A rich, traditional iced Christmas fruit cake, handmade in small batches and packed with dried fruit pre-soaked in spiced rum.

This 4-inch square Christmas cake is finished with marzipan and smooth white fondant icing, giving you all the flavour of a traditional Christmas cake without needing a large cake. It cuts into approximately 10 generous slices, making it ideal for smaller households, sharing over Christmas, or sending as a thoughtful Christmas cake gift.

Our fruit cakes are made using our traditional boiled fruit method and mixed by hand with a wooden spoon – no mixers, no shortcuts. The result is a rich, moist fruit cake with plenty of fruit and a warming rum flavour.

The recipe is made without eggs or dairy, although we simply think of it as a very good Christmas cake.

This is how Christmas cake is supposed to taste…

Every slice is mouth-wateringly moist, moreish, and fruity. Juicy cherries, sultanas, citrus, apricots, dates, infused with rum and boiled with sugar and mixed spices until they are plump, succulent, and bursting with the flavour before being baked to perfection.

About Grandpa's

Our Grandpa Stuart’s cherished recipe is the stuff of (local) legend. What began as a first prize in the village fete baking competition has evolved into a small batch Suffolk bakery, producing Grandpa’s moist and tender fruit cake just like the day he first created the recipe.
